Cover Story: Peter Williams

Peter Williams was born in the Northern Suburbs of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. He led a happy, normal life and in his own words had an “idyllic childhood, playing with my friends on my bike, playing computer games, enjoying my life – until everything changed.”

In his book ‘Searching Spirit’, Peter shares his story of ‘awakening’, the lessons learned along the way, and the road to developing his clairvoyance, clairsentience, and clairaudience – from practicing with friends to finding a mentor and to where he is now.

Peter now travels the world and stands up in front of huge audiences across Australia, Japan, Hong Kong, and China, and connects people with loved ones they’ve lost. His message is simple. If you open yourself up to the possibility – connection with Spirit is life-changing.

KIMBERLY MASKA:   Welcome everybody, welcome to Spiritual Biz Chat for Spiritual Biz Magazine, I am your host, Kimberly Maska, and today we have joining us Peter Williams, internationally acclaimed Australian psychic medium. Welcome, Peter, and thank you for being with us, how are you doing today?

PETER WILLIAMS: Hi, Kimberly, and everyone, I am fantastic. Thank you for having me.

KIMBERLY:   It’s a pleasure to have you here! Peter, you are such a refreshingly modern, down-to-earth psychic medium who helps millions of people around the world make a meaningful connection with their loved ones which is incredible. So, could you share the story behind your personal journey down the path to your current life’s purpose and work?

PETER:   Well it was around the age of 13-14 I went looking for something more. In all honesty, I did not know what I was looking for, and then one day, through the good old internet, I found an exercise about automatic writing – an exercise that helps get you in touch with Spirit. On the first night, I had contact with Spirit. It was as if they were there waiting for me to open up. That moment sparked a change in me forever. From there I soaked up everything and anything around me in the field. One of the key elements was teaching myself the tarot at the end of high school and that is when I started reading for people.

As I finished school I had a desire to be a teacher and was pursuing that when my family hit a tough spot just after September 11 when my father lost his job in the airlines. This led to many changes for them and me. I decided to quit my studies and join the Royal Australian Air Force. My time there ended up being a whole heap shorter than expected and eventually, the twists and turns of life led me to Japan to teach English. It was here I was able to really embrace my spiritual side. I found myself reading more for people and I really tested the limits of my abilities. More importantly, it was around that time I met my wife to be.

Over the course of almost 10 years, I lived and worked in Asia, primarily Japan. I was happy there – it was very much the plan to live and work in Japan for the foreseeable future. However, the cataclysmic events around the Japanese Earthquake, Tsunami and subsequent nuclear accident in Fukushima in March 2011, forced us to evacuate and relocate to Australia.

KIMBERLY:   Oh wow! Was this the turning point in taking the steps to make your passion a business? And how have you managed to turn that into a business?

PETER:   Yes, definitely! Those events in Japan were a turning point in as far as our lives were turned upside down and we were forced to return to Australia. It was a low point in our lives – and there was a real sense of desperation. As you can imagine we were very much in limbo – our lives had been in Japan and my wife was expecting our first baby imminently which added its own set of challenges – “Was the baby going to be OK? Where were we going to have this baby?”

An opportunity to be a reader at a New Age/Crystal shop opened up for me though and I found that my abilities to be able to read people came in handy and provided my wife and me with some much-needed income. It was through that moment that I realized that there could be more to this than I thought.

In fact, on my first day, the lady who owned the shop said it had been the second busiest day for readings she had ever had. I think I did about 6 or 7 sessions that day – so I was as shocked as she was. The one thing I did find is that I enjoyed it.

That was my first big clue to turning my passion into a business. It wasn’t long before I had people coming around to my house readings, and the phone calls and text messages just kept on coming.

The downside to this work at that time was that it was not really stable and with not long having had our first child – stability was something we needed.

In order to help supplement the income, I ended up working for my brother helping out with his auditing and accounting firm. For about two years I was working for both my brother and doing readings for clients.

Throughout that time I was doing some serious thinking. Simply put, I was not happy! I felt I was doing everything right by society’s standards but it just didn’t seem to be enough. I could feel the very life force being sucked out of me day by day and it was a downward spiral. I knew I had to make changes and find a way to make life better for me and my family.

It was at this point I decided to open up a holistic clinic so I could conduct readings in a professional environment alongside other holistic health practitioners. I really focused on building a solid client base with promotions and introductory offers, so it really didn’t take long for word to spread. Pretty soon I was very busy and business was doing well. It wasn’t long after that I took my courage in both hands and began holding public platform demonstrations for an audience.

What I would point out is that when I really looked at my situation at the time I realized there was going to be an element of risk no matter what I did – so I decided I had nothing to lose. I had to back myself and just go for it – strike out and do what I wanted to do!

KIMBERLY:   Just amazing! And I also wanted to congratulate you on the release of your debut book, ‘Searching Spirit’ ! That’s a huge accomplishment! Could you, please, introduce our audience to it a little bit? What was the inspiration behind this book and its title?

PETER:   Thank you! It certainly has been a task and a half to complete and I’m happy it is now out there. ‘Searching Spirit’ is my story and about how I have come to be where I am now. It is interesting as I did not see myself being where I am now! My book shows the path I took from being a teenage boy to this point in time. It shows the steps, lessons, and growth I have experienced on this journey. Having toured and connected with numerous people, a common question I get asked, “How did you get into this?” So ultimately, I wanted to share my journey and share some of the healing that this work also has to offer with others.

KIMBERLY:   What do you hope for the readers to take away after reading your book? What do you think sets ‘Searching Spirit’ apart from other spiritual books out there today?

PETER:   The main point I hope to share with people through the book is that if you just open yourself up to the idea and believe there is something more than ourselves out there, you can really see the magic in life. Throughout the book, I look at what I have learned and also try to help breakdown some key lessons in life for people and hope that once they see those lessons they might be able to apply them and start to make shifts and changes in their lives.

I take a straight forward approach with my style and present in a way that I consider to be easy to read and understand. I have tried to demonstrate the idea that it doesn’t matter where you are on your spiritual journey you will be able to understand what I am talking about. It’s very down to earth.

KIMBERLY:   Peter, what is your ultimate goal with your work? What is your mission? Your dream? What are some projects that are on your mind and that you are currently working on?

PETER:   The dream for me is to share my work with as many people as I can and to inspire others to find the best version of themselves. I want to share the magic of Spirit with people and help open their eyes to the fact there is something greater than ourselves and that when we work with that our lives can really start to flow.

I think that’s where my next project will really help. I’m creating a membership program called Pearls of Wisdom (POW) – a forum for my online community where I can help support people on their personal journeys. It’s for people who have a curiosity about the Spirit world and would like a place to meet with likeminded people in a safe, private place away from social media.

KIMBERLY:   Is there a final message you want to let the audience know? Or just any last little words that you have for them?

PETER:   I always say don’t end up being one of the Spirits that come through to me wishing that had done what they wanted in life. Go out there and give it go. The power is in your hands to make your life what you want so make it happen!

KIMBERLY:   If our readers wanted to reach you, where can they find you?

PETER:   The can find me on my Website, or if they search for Peter Williams Medium on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. If they want to keep up to date with my events or what’s happening, the best way to join my newsletter which can be done on my Website.

KIMBERLY:   Thank you, Peter, very much! It has been such a pleasure chatting with you today!

PETER:   Thank you, Kimberly. It’s been my pleasure.
